Today was “simply beautiful”. We honored Netta’s release of The Book of Burnett. We shared in community, in witnessing, in grief, in memory. The energy was buzzing in that cozy, living-room kind of way. It felt like pure love in the room.
We’ve been talking so much about visibility lately. And sometimes visibility isn’t flashy or loud. Sometimes visibility is simply being witnessed in our vulnerability.
Today felt like that.
It felt like we were present with each other — like we were in the same room, holding space for each other’s laughter, each other’s grief, each other’s love and memories. Millie Jones-Cowles showed up with such courage and tenderness in today’s live. I’d love to uplift her book as well — it’s a true labor of love, Where’s Charlie?
I feel so honored to have held space with Netta today, and for all the sharing that poured into that container. This is what I mean when I say I want to do spiritual shit with my community all day long. Not spectacle. Not noise. Just real, embodied connection.
And thank you for being a witness for me, too.
